Under Pressure 2014 Photo Recap

On August 10th and 11th, the Under Pressure International Graffiti Convention ran a 19th installment and topped the week-end with a legendary performance at Foufounes Électriques with the Godfather of Hip Hop, Afrika Bambaataa (see our interview here).

There were awe-inspiring b-boy/b-girl competitions, skakeboard competitions, live musical performances, DJ sets and of course, graffiti all over the place.

K6A’s “Fear & Loathing in Montréal” piece is worthy of mention, along with all the other impressive pieces of visual art that now populate the area around Boisbriand street, north of Sainte-Catherine, right behind Foufounes Électriques and Cabaret Underworld.

The festival benefitted from some better exposure on Sainte Catherine street, which we presume helped boost the number of attendees this time around.

Elementality was there to capture so many moments of Hip Hop magic, thanks to the eye and lens of Mariel Rosenbluth. In case you missed it, or if you’re experiencing UP withdrawal symptoms, here’s a photo recap of the two day festival.
