Notion – Pride on my Cufflinks EP

The Movement Fam is an actual family of Australian rappers – two brothers, Notion and Cee, who moved to Toronto and Montreal in the past couple of years. Cee recently worked with Dr. Mad and they released their collaboration EP called Steps to the Peak, and the Melbourne native has been getting accolades for his work within the community, especially as an organizer for the Hip Hop Karaoke events series.

As for younger brother Notion, he’s been relatively silent these days, honing his craft and working as an engineer behind his brother’s mixtapes and EP. Canadian Hip Hop heads were introduced to him last winter with So Cold, his first visual since moving to our frozen Canadian shores.

Until now, we were yet to be blessed with a full on solo project from Notion himself. He did release three mixtapes before, and his 2010 tribute to 9th Wonder can be downloaded for free here.

Almost a year after this first release, he dropped his first EP Pride on my Cufflinks, which is an accomplished effort showcasing his skills and ambitions as a rapper. We’re definitely stoked to hear more from this dedicated Aussie Canadian emcee. The EP features guest appearances from Cee (MTL), Illvibe (Barrie, ON), B3auu (Toronto), Gravity Christ (LA), Copywrite (Colombus, OH). Production credits also include a few familiar names like Remot (Kidz In The Hall, K-Os), Diaz & Sima (Hungary), P.R. (Sydney, Aus.) & Notion himself.

You can hear more of Notion’s music on his website (see link below).
