Jai Nitai Lotus Honest

Jai Nitai Lotus Flips Pusha T’s Numbers on the Boards on “Honest” [Video]

In 2012, Jai Nitai Lotus put out Something You Feel, one of the most musically accomplished rap albums in Canada that year. His live show at the Jazz Fest was also a testament to how much the artist has grown. Such a feat would have been impossible without a touch of artistic honesty.

With that in mind, his new single Honest retakes the beat from Pusha T’s “Numbers on the Boards”, while also playing on some of the American rapper’s rhyme schemes and aggression. However, he flips the intention to reflect Jai’s own vision of artistic integrity.

“I see flaws, blood on your diamonds, see these wars that’s relyin’ on your minin’.”

This is the first single off his upcoming Acknowledgement mixtape, which will be released in collaboration with Dudley Perkins & Georgia Anne Muldrow’s label, Somothaship Connect.

Shout out to Pacesix, who danced in the video and also directed it.

Though I have nuff appreciation for the intricate bar game delivered by Pusha T, it’s always refreshing to have a moment of honesty.
