Black Fashion Week in Montréal from May 15th to May 17th

The Black Fashion Week will be held for the first time in Montréal from May 15th to May 17th. After Prague and Paris, it is now our city’s turn to shed light on the fascinating world of Black & African fashion.

Some of the world’s most widely recognized designers and models who draw inspiration from Afro culture and fashion will gather at the Église St-Jean Baptiste (309 rue Rachel E.) on all three nights at 6 PM. The show is produced by Adama Ndiaye, who launched the brand ADAMA PARIS as well as the Dakar Fashion Week, which will be celebrating its 10th anniversary this year.

For three nights, there will be three different themes: JUST Fashion, ONLY Men and LIMITED Edition. Tickets are 25$ at Admission. This unprecedented event will be “a testimony to the vibrant Black influence in the Fashion World” according to the event’s website,

Creators from Cameroun, UK, France, Mozambique, Mali, Angola and Canada will make this sure this event is extremely diverse, in a fashion world mostly dominated by White designers.

The event had two successful editions in Prague (2011) and Paris (2012). After Montréal, Dakar (Senegal) and El Salvador De Bahia (Brazil) will receive the Black Fashion Week.
